Evangelization and Education

Children's Faith Formation

First and Second Grade - First Eucharist and First Reconciliation

First and Second Graders prepare for these two Sacraments under the instruction of the Director of Religious Education and trained Catechists. This includes both religious education for the children, as well as adult education for the parents as the primary educators in their domestic church.

Third, Fourth and Fifth Grade

Third, Fourth and Fifth Graders continue to broaden their understanding of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, as well as the Sacraments, the Church, and the loving mercy and forgiveness of the Lord.

Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grade – Confirmation

Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Graders begin the preparation for Confirmation by studying their role in the Church and how they can minister to others by using the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The sixth and seventh grades focus on understanding who they are in relationship to God, and how He uses the scriptures as a means of communicating his precious love of his creation. In Eighth grade students prepare for Confirmation and receiving the Gifts of the Spirit and how to use these gifts for the Kingdom of God.

RCIA, or Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is the course for those interested in the Catholic Church to learn about the faith and join our family of believers. It is also the process which enables adult Catholics who are not confirmed to become fully initiated Catholics. Please call the Parish Office at (248)-852-4170 for more information.

This program, an adaptation of the RCIA, is designed for children age 7 or older who have missed receiving sacraments at the usual age of reception. Call the Religious Education office at (248)-852-4170 Ext. 15 for more information.
